A 12-Year-Old Lincoln Town Car Still Has Potential

An oldie but goodie. Don't rule it out. Someone would pay to ride in this instead of a taxi or a TNC vehicle.
GRIMES, Iowa — Most limousine companies would avoid a 2004 Lincoln Town Car; it looks too old and presumably carries too many maintenance risks.

But what if that 2004 model year luxury sedan were in mint condition with only 33,000 miles? And what if a limousine company, in a ground transportation world disrupted by Uber and TNCs, found a client niche not so image-conscious and insistent on the latest model vehicle?

Then such a used vehicle would have some appeal, especially if it’s a 2004 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate Series, with a 4.6L V8 engine, available for $12,000. The vehicle, being advertised by Iowa Auto Outlet, is now on sale at Limoforsale.com.

As operators stay competitive by offering more tiers or categories of service, such an older but reliable luxury sedan could serve legitimate chauffeured uses: Taking seniors to medical appointments at a lower rate; picking up schoolchildren for parents who want chaufferued reliability but should not being using Uber; and/or being available for on-demand service, with a chauffeur who is background checked and trained.

In a ground transportation market growing more diverse, all legal and safe fleet service options are now on the table.
