Do You Know How To Beat The Gig Economy Yet?

Richard Fertig, president of Brilliant Transportation in Brooklyn, N.Y.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — It’s time to beat the gig economy at it’s own game. Apps do it one way, but you can learn how to do it better at the LCT-NLA Show East super closing session, “Embracing New Rules of Engagement in the Gig Economy,” on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Bring It On: Panelist Richard Fertig, president of Brilliant Transportation in Brooklyn, N.Y., wants attendees to learn about the many opportunities for those who are creative, innovative, and embrace challenges and disruptions.

“To enable those opportunities requires you to think differently and not as a standard limo operator the way you’ve been doing business for the last 10 years,” he says. “Think about what you want to do for the next 10 years.”

By the time the panel ends, he assures you’ll come away with an understanding of the gig economy, and the differences between Millennials and more traditional employees. “We’ll also look at client’s expectations today and going forward.”

Nicholas Kokas, vice president of global operations for Brentwood’s Distinguished Executive Transportation, Macomb, Mich.
Get Giggy With It: Panelist Nicholas Kokas, vice president of global operations for Brentwood’s Distinguished Executive Transportation, Macomb, Mich., will be sharing internal trends on drivers in the gig economy and how they’ve affected the luxury ground transportation business in a positive way, thanks to the shortfalls of the TNCs.

“The time for complaining about TNC’s is over, and it’s our time to take advantage of their shortcomings now that we’ve studied their model,” Kokas says. “We’ll also segue into the current Presidential campaign climate as proof of why the theoretical idea of a gig employee is going against the grain of public sentiment.”

He believes operators will leave the session with a refreshed, positive perspective and actual tools and ideas they can use to benefit their supply needs for both chauffeurs and vehicles.

Rick Versace Jr., director of business development for A1A Airport & Limousine Service, Boca Raton, Fla.
Tools Of Attraction: Panelist Rick Versace Jr., director of business development for A1A Airport & Limousine Service, Boca Raton, Fla., says the session will focus on defining the kinds of people interested in the gig economy and the Millennial employee.

“We’ll be talking about the different kind of jobs you have to offer to attract new, young talent, and about how to win back some of your old customers and retain the ones you have now,” he says.

Versace says they’ll be providing resources on how to attract Millennials coming straight out of college. This includes how to draft job openings on different websites to position your company in a way that attracts people looking for a career instead of a part-time job.

Note: David Seelinger of EmpireCLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services will also be speaking on this panel, but could not be reached for comment.
