Just as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class eventually spawned a smaller, similar-looking E-Class, so goes BMW. The 2017 5 Series is all new, with a look pulled straight from the design books of the 7 Series that arrived in the previous model year. But the 5 Series contains some tricks not even the 7 Series packs.
The look is a mix of current 5 Series and new 7 Series, with an emphasis on horizontal lines to make it seem wider and more accommodating. The door cards feature expanded storage spaces, which are now big enough to accommodate bottles. Rear legroom is up 1.2 inches, sport seats are standard and an expanded trunk.
