A new rear-view camera system from auto mirror supplier Gentex is available in a few new Cadillacs, starting with the CT6.
The supplier said the high-tech mirror eventually will be available in more models, at first exclusively from Cadillac and GM, and then from different manufacturers.
The “Full Display Mirror” isn’t a mirror at all, but a display from a rear-facing camera mounted on the back of the car as high as it will go. It may look like a mirror, but it’s like looking out a rear-facing periscope.
