INDIANAPOLIS — If you haven’t considered attending BusCon 2017, held at the Indiana Convention Center Sept. 19-21, you may want to rethink it — especially if you’re an operator looking for some good motorcoach advice and education.
Within the past few years, the chauffeured transportation industry has seen a shift toward the bus market. However, if operators hope to make good money from this segment, they need to know best practices. This year, the tradeshow will feature speakers familiar with the LCT crowd: Bill Faeth of Limo University & Inbound Marketing Agents; Aleja Seabron of The LMC Group; and Joe Guinn of Limo and Bus Compliance.
Faeth will be leading two sessions. One called “Leveraging Automation to Sell 24 Hours a Day,” will teach operators how to install simple automations onto their websites, social media, lead generation, and email marketing, allowing them to sell while they sleep. “Creating a High-Powered Infrastructure for Growth” will discuss how operators can grow rapidly, even in today’s business climate.
Seabron’s session, “Creating Your Social Strategy,” is sure to have operators leaving the presentation with an action plan. This interactive discussion will outline understanding customer demographics, platforms, and their purpose; content creation and curation; understanding your message; relating to your audience; and creating consistency and engagement.
“Compliance Made Simple for New and Seasoned Bus Operators” will be led by Guinn who understands the complex subject that confuses many new limousine and other operators entering the industry, as well as veterans. In this fast-paced class, he’ll talk about the required documents of a driver qualification file, maintenance files, and the new regulations surrounding electronic logs.
In addition to plenty of networking opportunities, this year’s BusCon will also feature a timely keynote address — “How Connected/Automated Vehicle Technology Will Impact Transportation” — which will discuss the evolution of the technology, how and where it is being tested, and its effects on the various transportation industries.
The 135,800 sq.ft. show floor — open Tuesday, Sept. 12 from Noon to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. — will once again offer the largest quantity and widest variety of vehicles and products, with attendees able to use BusCon’s mobile app to get around the show.
Vehicle manufacturers slated to be on the show floor this year include Blue Bird, Diamond Coach, Embassy by SVO Group Inc., Freightliner Custom Chassis, Irizar, Mercedes-Benz Vans, MCI, and Ram Trucks, as well as offerings from the REV Group family of products, which includes Champion, Federal, Krystal, and World Trans.
