Lanyon Announces Partnership With Pow Wow Smart

Lanyon
Dallas — Lanyon, a global leader in meetings, events, and travel software, recently announced its strategic partnership with Pow Wow Smart, a comprehensive technology platform that delivers ground transportation solutions for meetings, conferences, and events.

“Lanyon’s goal is to make meeting and event planners’ jobs easier by being a one-stop shop for all of their needs,” said John Pulling, chief technology officer of Lanyon. “Our Smart Events Cloud and Smart Hotel Cloud solutions, coupled with the innovative technologies that Pow Wow Smart offers, will enable meeting and event planners to manage their event, secure hotel blocks, and source ground transportation all in one place, without having to piecemeal their technology together. Through the Pow Wow Smart network of limousine companies, corporations will be able to save more than 30 percent on ground transportation cost. Just as Lanyon brings together planners and suppliers through hotel venue sourcing, we now can do the same with ground transportation.”

Pow Wow Smart, together with miRide, its mobile application for chauffeur-driven rides for businesses and professionals, has pioneered the advancement of technology and data aggregation for ground transportation, according to the press release announcing the collaboration. The patented technologies improve process and workflow for meeting and event planners, save time and money, and produce a better attendee experience. Their marketplace, which creates direct relationships with reputable companies that own the rubber and steel, helps companies effectively address this significant spend category.

With the partnership, planners will be able to submit a pricing request to ground companies through the Pow Wow Smart system, which will generate quotes from three to five transportation companies. After selecting the best transportation option, the planner will then have the ability to collect flight arrival and departure times through the registration system, and export the data directly into the system, automatically building the pickup and drop-off manifest.

“We’re thrilled to be leading this effort with Lanyon,” said Evan Michaels, CEO of Pow Wow Smart. “Ground transportation is a significant category in the event process in need of breakthrough process improvement, and we’re excited about working with Lanyon to address efficiencies and cost-savings through our proven technologies and supplier marketplace.”

The partnership announcement continues Lanyon’s strong 2016, as the company recently appointed Jay Link as chief sales officer, and announced the addition of Christie Hicks, Mark Komine, and Bill Nicholson to the Lanyon Strategic Advisory Board. Lanyon is also updating and enhancing the company’s Smart Events Cloud solution, with the newest additions to the platform to be announced in the second quarter of 2016.
