Uber Technologies spent more than $159,000 on lobbying in the state capital of Trenton in 2015, mostly opposing a bill that would regulate its drivers, according to reports on the amount of money spent lobbying that were released this week by the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
Limousine operators who compete with Uber drivers for work also opposed the measure, saying it doesn’t go far enough to level the competitive landscape.
