Premier Transportation helped save some passengers that were stranded when a plane with a mechanical problem had to land in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Premier staff got on the company’s GPS and found some coaches that were available to pick up the passengers and take them to their destination.
For this, the company earned the 2016 Operator of the Year award from the Tennessee Motor Coach Association.
The organization, which represents 30 motorcoach companies across the state and 18 affiliated operators in other states, gives the award in recognition of a company’s overall contribution to the industry and its professionalism in dealing with the public and other operators.
Nick Cazana, owner of Premier Transportation, says the company has made it a point to try to anticipate industry changes and get a head start on them. Its 41 coaches are all equipped with seat belts — something that will become a federal requirement in 2017, he said.
