Affiliates Love An Operator Who Is Always Prepared

EAGAN, Minn. — Adam Pierce, operations manager for Star Transportation, knows time is money, and the more efficiently you work, the more affiliates will thank you for it. For example, rides run a lot smoother if you are prepared with the information most affiliates will ask for ahead of time.

“It makes everyone’s life a lot easier when that info is readily available,” he says. “Even the little details like whether the client would prefer soda over water can make all the difference.”

Speedy and accuracy are becoming more important in a rapidly changing affiliate work environment. Pierce has noticed many affiliates requesting help for runs in an hour, when it used to be reservations would come in at least two to three days in advance. “We’re seeing more requests for on or near-demand rides. It can be challenging, especially when it’s a busy day.”

Star Transportation has one of the newest fleets of all of the companies in Minnesota, Pierce says. This includes a variety of sedan, SUV, minibus, and van limos; motorcoaches; and sedan and SUV stretches. Their turnover rate is four years or 100,000 miles.

The business services Minneapolis and Rochester, the home of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic (a nonprofit organization committed to clinical practice, education, and research). Both offices are at or near major airports, which makes runs that much easier.

Pierce says the company signed up for LCT Connect because they get LCT Magazine, and find it has many good resources. “We figured LCT Connect would be a good tool for helping us fill our affiliate needs.”

Star Transportation has been voted favorite transportation in Rochester two years in a row by the readers of the Rochester Post Bulletin and the best limo service in Minnesota by the viewers of WCCO-TV. It’s also had BMW and one of the sponsors of the Ryder cup choose them to drive their VIPs around during the golf event. 

This is one operation to contact if you have anybody looking for a ride to next year’s Super Bowl, which will be held at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. “We’d be more than happy to accommodate any of your clients coming to the area,” he says.
