CHIACGO — Although the city has approved an ordinance that allows TNCs to operate at the airports and convention centers, the Illinois Limousine Association (ILA) hired legal counsel to request a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the city as soon as possible.
“Our industry needs to unite and make a stand. We stand to lose a large percentage of business in the very near future if these concessions are granted to the TNPs,” ILA President Tracy Raimer said.
“Our goal is to raise $75,000 for a TRO to immediately stop the City of Chicago from implementing the new ordinance. With advice of counsel we intend to pursue a class action lawsuit against the City of Chicago and its Mayor Rahm Emanuel for discrimination against the livery industry as well as the potential conflict of interest as his brother is a huge investor in UBER,” she added.
