BUFFALO, N.Y. — Towne Automotive Group & Towne Livery are hosting a unique and fun-filled two-day event Aug. 12-13 for operators to be among the first in the nation to drive the all-new 2017 Lincoln Continental at a cocktail party at Shea’s Performing Arts Center.
In addition, attendees are invited to attend a Saturday evening baseball game at Coca-Cola Field between the Buffalo Bisons and Pawtucket Red Sox — with a special appearance by Larry Thomas, the infamous “Soup Nazi — No Soup For You!”, from the Seinfeld TV show.
“We came up with idea in December and figured it would be a tremendous opportunity to launch Lincoln’s flagship vehicle to our retail and livery customers,” said David Bastian, commercial sales manager for Towne Automotive Group, who is organizing the event. “We felt this new vehicle deserved a proper launch because of the history of the name of the vehicle.”
Since the Lincoln-Continental debuted to the limousine industry at the International LCT Show in Las Vegas on Feb. 29, excitement has been “building from the beginning,” Bastian observed. Attendees, however, were not able to drive or sit in the production prototype at the Show.
“The industry is definitely excited about the vehicle,” Bastian said. “This will be the first chance to drive it. Operators will have another vehicle to consider if they’re thinking about adding a sedan. Based on the reaction we get, the loyalty to the old Lincoln Town Car is still there. I don’t think the brand loyalty ever went away.”
The test-drive event also will raise money for a local charity to be announced soon.

7 p.m. Coca-Cola Field (limo operators only): Baseball Game. Between Buffalo Bisons vs. Pawtucket Red Sox. Special appearance by Larry Thomas the “Soup Nazi” from the Seinfeld TV show.
