PRINCETON, N.J.—The Limousine Association of New Jersey (LANJ) kicked off 2016 with more than 75 members and guests attending a lunch meeting that focused on adding more member education and cooperative relationships with other taxi and private transportation groups as well as neighboring state limousine associations.

“We have a lot of respect in the private transportation industry and we’re looking to form cooperative relationships with taxi and bus groups, as well as with other state limousine associations,” said LANJ President Jeff Shanker. “It’s a good way to unify the industry, especially on the legislative front when we lobby for the industry.”

Shanker said the association — now at a record 144 members — has established a new education committee, headed by First Vice President Jason Sharenow (Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide), charged with offering members education sessions on a variety of topics in an effort to bring more substantive content during meetings. LANJ is also planning a “vendor appreciation day” where industry suppliers can showcase their products and services to members.

The meeting also was the venue to announce its new executive board, officers and administrator:

President, Jeff Shanker ( A-1 Limousine); First Vice President, Jason Sharenow Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide); Second Vice President, Jeff Brodsly (Chosen Payments); Secretary, Karen Gajda, (Country Club Transportation); Treasurer, Jon Epstein (Royal Coachman Worldwide); PAC Chair, Pete Corelli (Lakeview Custom Coach); and Executive Director, Patricia Nelson.

LANJ also announced that Jim Moseley, a longtime New Jersey operator, owner of TripTracker, and former LANJ president, has retired from the industry.
