Cadillac CT6 Sedan To Debut At ILCT Show Feb. 29

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 has been making the rounds at auto shows worldwide since it debuted in April 2015. It officially is introduced to the limousine industry on Monday, Feb. 29, at 4:30 p.m. during the International LCT Show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Cadillac Professional Vehicles brings its newest luxury sedan, the CT6, to the International LCT Show on Feb. 29, allowing attendee-operators to see the longer wheelbase model for the first time.

The debut to the global chauffeured transportation industry will take place on the show floor at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on Monday, Feb. 29 at 4:30 p.m., at the start of the annual International LCT Show. It will be on display during show floor hours through Wednesday, March 2.

“We’ll have the latest and greatest from Cadillac,” said Ray Bush, commercial sales manager for the Cadillac Professional Vehicles program. “It not just about rear seat roominess; the whole package needs to be experienced.”

In coming weeks, the Cadillac team will be selecting the exact CT6 vehicle to bring, since only a few are available. The model, which started production in January, will not arrive at dealerships until March. Cadillac will not create a livery model version of the CT6 as it has for the XTS, but instead offer a retail model like it does with the Escalade SUV models.

Details on pricing, incentives and warranties will be discussed during a special “Ask The Manufacturer” session to be held Tuesday, March 1 from 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. in Oceanside D of the Mandalay Bay conference center.

Cadillac Professional Vehicles plans to keep the XTS sedan in its livery fleet line-up, both as a sedan and for the 70-in. stretch limousine model built under the Cadillac Master Coachbuilder (CMC) program.

The addition of the 2016 Cadillac CT6 to the exhibit floor makes this year’s LCT event historic, since it coincides with the official debut and unveiling of the 2017 Lincoln Continental by Ford/Lincoln Limousine & Livery Vehicles, to be held at 6 p.m. on the Show floor. This is the first time in recent industry history that Lincoln and Cadillac, the two longtime leading manufacturers and sellers of limousine vehicles, are debuting next-generation luxury sedans at the same industry trade show.

For operators and attendees, the near simultaneous debuts will enable them to literally walk back and forth between the vehicles and compare. Both the Lincoln-Continental and CT6 offer longer wheelbases, more interior legroom and more advanced technology options than previous fleet vehicle models. They also represent a new era in sedan design at both OEMs.

The last time Lincoln and Cadillac unveiled new, next-generation livery models, they did so one year apart, with the 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car debuting at the 2011 International LCT Show at Paris Las Vegas, and the 2013 Cadillac XTS sedan debuting during the 2012 Show at the MGM Grand.

The dual, dueling debuts so far are helping fuel a surge in Show registrations, with the LCT event on track to possibly exceed the peak attendance levels of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Shows that preceded the Great Recession.

About four-fifths of all exhibitors displaying at this year’s Show are planning to either unveil a new product or major product upgrade. For any operator looking to figure out future fleet make-ups in a ground transportation market upended by TNCs, this year’s Show brings all fleet vehicle options and buying opportunities together under one roof in a concentrated three-day period.
