Senate Bill 247 proposes changes such as fire-resistant seats, automatic emergency lighting, windows that open and remain open during evacuations, and an event data recorder capable of recording during sudden deceleration or hard braking. Additionally, charter buses built after July 2017 would require a second emergency door.
This is in an attempt to make motorcoaches safer in an emergency situation when there’s a fire and people need to evacuate quickly.
