The mother of a teen who died after taking drugs on a party bus is hoping to improve the safety situation.
Julie Raymond is heading to Victoria, BC tomorrow, as the New Democratic Party (NDP) introduces another private member’s bill to tackle safety in the troubled industry. Raymond’s 16-year-old daughter Shannon died eight years ago after consuming ecstasy and alcohol on a party bus.
Raymond has long been advocating for chaperones on busses, something included in a private member’s bill from NDP Member of the Legislative Assembly George Heyman which will be introduced again.
