The technology-laden Cadillac CT6 luxury sedan will be the first car to offer a high-definition video rearview mirror when it goes on sale in the first half of 2016. The mirror, made by Zeeland, Michigan-based supplier Gentex offers a remarkably wide field of view for better visibility than traditional optical mirrors.
Gentex calls it the Full Display Mirror. It takes an image from a high-def camera mounted at the rear of the car and projects it onto the rearview mirror.
