State troopers are on an enforcement sting looking for limousines and party buses that may be in violation of state and federal regulations in Madison, Wis.
“One of the things we’re looking at is to make sure the limousines, passenger carriers, and motorcoaches have the proper amount of insurance to be able to transport passengers,” Sgt. Tim Austin said.
Earlier this year, News 3 Investigates looked into who was behind the wheel of Wisconsin limos after a crash near Chicago that killed 53-year-old Terri Schmidt of Monona and injured her husband and friends.
The story found an Edgerton limo company, Lyons Limousine, was on the road because it was never caught violating state law. The company now faces a civil suit, and the driver faces criminal charges.
