L.A. Uber Driver Threatens To Hit Passenger With A Rock, Steals iPhone: The driver picked up the customer June 17 and drove him to his destination, but the passenger forgot his phone in the car. During the ride back, the customer offered a tip for returning the phone, but the driver “became upset” at the offer and asked for more. He allegedly got out of his car, grabbed a large rock from the front yard of a home, and threatened to hit the passenger if he didn’t give the him more money. Los Angeles Times article here

Uber Trying To Make Customers Forget Surge Pricing Exists: Uber is now testing a new version of its app that makes surge pricing nearly invisible to customers. The lightning bolt on the home screen and pop-up box notifying riders their fare will be multiplied are both gone. Leaked Docs Revel How Much Uber Drivers Really Make: If you listen to Uber, its “driver partners” can make a comfortable living — as much as $90,000 a year in some markets.
