WINNIPEG, Manitoba — A 35-vehicle Canadian limousine company is selling a 2004 Ford Excursion, an SUV model that Ford sold from 1999 to 2005 that symbolized America’s SUV heyday before gas prices reached record highs in the decade since.
The six-passenger model, on the market for $8,000 at 261,000 miles, has been used for executive chauffeured runs and retains a 10-rating for mechanical and interior conditions.
Larger than a Ford Expedition, the Excursion model was available in an optional 6.8L V-10 engine, but it ultimately fell victim to high gas prices and slowing sales.
As this posting on Limoforsale.com shows, it never lost its chaffeured cachet as an SUV on steroids with all the luxury amenities. And now that gas prices are reaching cyclical lows again. . .
