People’s Choice Awards Kicks Into High Season

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — If you’re already planning on attending LCT East, you need to make sure you pencil the complementary People’s Choice Award ceremony into your schedule. Not only does the event include the presentation of the awards, but you’ll enjoy entertainment, cocktails, and small bites as well.

However, these awards wouldn’t exist without operators nominating their peers they deem worthy to receive one. Time is running out to do so…you only have until Oct. 10 to get your vote in. Believe us, it’ll be here before you know it. Here’s a list of the five categories to refresh your memory.

Entrepreneur of the Year: An operator who has shown a unique pursuit of business, developed a product or concept, and/or found ways to expand operations.

Leadership Award: An operator who has influenced others to accomplish an objective or goal which resulted in positive effects on the organization.

Innovation Award: An operator who has shown advanced knowledge and use of social media, mobile apps, tech amenities, and/or tech-based fleet management, or an operator who has started a technology venture.

Carla Boroday Humanitarian Award: Named after the late Florida operator, industry association leader, and activist Carla Boroday, this award recognizes a person who has been creative and consistent in supporting a charity to improve quality of life or support a worthwhile cause.

Gold Star Award: Goes to a Good Samaritan who has gone beyond the call of duty in the spirit of service, acts of kindness, and good will.

The deadline is October 10.

CHTC USA Delivers Five New Motorcoaches

CHTC USA saw continued U.S. growth in August with more deliveries of its HT series motorcoaches. The company delivered three HT45s and two HT35s to VMC Travel Express in San Francisco and to Jehovah Jireh Tours in Conley, Ga.

“We are happy to see the product having success in the market, and are thankful to the customers who have recently taken delivery from our Chino, Calif. and Orlando, Fla. operations,” said Scott Thorpe, director of sales and operations.

The HT Series products are built with more than 75% U.S. content including but not limited to Cummins engines, Allison transmissions, ZF suspension, Michelin tires, and Alcoa aluminum wheels just to name a few. Popular options include ADA doors, wheelchair assist lifts, and leather interiors.
