Can Self-Driving Cars Share The Road With Normal Vehicles?

We are likely in for a generation-long transitional period when autonomous vehicles share the road with traditionally driven ones.

It would be one thing to prepare for a brave new world where human drivers have been magically removed overnight from the equation altogether, but the messier reality for businesses trying to capitalize on the technology, their regulators, and the rest of us, is that we all need to prepare for a hybrid transportation system that can accommodate both humans and machines going about their daily commute, interacting safely.

California Cops Bust Party Bus Rule Breakers

Police slammed the brakes on a group of teens’ rolling booze and drug shindig when they busted a party bus in Marin County a 16-year-old boy rented online for less than $1,000 and no questions asked, officials said.

The 33 teens, ranging in age from 15 to 17, had been cruising around San Francisco on Monday on what police described as a bus loaded with hard alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs.

The 63-year-old bus driver was arrested on a string of charges including felony child endangerment and possession of his own drugs, police said.

Travelers Say Hotels Safer Than Sharing Economy

Business travelers are opting for large chain hotels over sharing economy providers because of safety fears, a study from the GTMC has found.

Data showed 49% of travelers cited safety as a key factor when choosing a hotel, behind location and price.

The study found 75% said they would prefer the safety of a chain hotel, compared to only 2% of travelers who would opt for a rented room or home via a sharing website.
