Long Island Wine Council Restricting Limos Coming To Vineyards

NORTH FORK, N.Y. — Unsettling cellphone video has surfaced of a limousine driver trying to make an ill-advised and dangerous U-turn in wine country, just feet from the site of a fatal limo crash 15 months ago.

The video shows a mega-stretch limo stuck on a Cutchogue winery road, trying to negotiate a three-point turn. It called into question the driver and passengers’ behavior.

What’s Next For Lincoln Vehicle Line-Up?

With two sedans, three crossovers, and a big SUV, it’s fair to say that Lincoln has now covered the basics. Last week, I asked Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra whether the Lincoln product line was now complete.

“I think we have a very strong core portfolio,” he said. “We have strong products in all of the core segments in the U.S. and in China.”

But, he said, there are more new models for Lincoln on the way.

[Soon, the oldest Lincoln left in the lineup will be the big MKT crossover, last overhauled for the 2013 model year. And given that its Ford sibling, the Explorer, was revamped for 2016, it’s likely that a refreshed MKT is already in the works].

Sneak Peek At The Next Presidential Limousine

Few vehicles on the face of the planet are enshrouded in such secrecy as the Presidential limousine.

Outwardly, most have some passing resemblance to production models, and most of them over the past half-century have been loosely based on either a Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac Fleetwood. The most recent one, known internally as “the Beast,” is believed to be based on a GM Top Kick/Kodiak medium-duty truck platform, and be diesel-powered, either by a 6.5L or Duramax 6.6L V-8. Only an elite few know for sure, and they aren’t talking.

With the imminent arrival of a new commander in chief comes a new executive ride. Our crack spy photographer managed to get through the notoriously tight security surrounding these models to nab the next-generation presidential limousine testing at a GM test track.

Tristar Worldwide Wins 2016 Buying Business Travel Awards

LONDON — Tristar Worldwide won the award for “Best Ground Transportation Company” at the 2016 Buying Business Travel Awards.

The Buying Business Travel Awards have been running for over 20 years, showcasing the best of the travel industry’s leaders and their corporate clients. The results were announced at a gala dinner on Jan. 18 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis.

Tristar Worldwide Chauffeur Services, with North American operations based in Boston, was ranked No. 2 on the 2015 LCT 50 Largest Fleets List. The company is led by CEO Dean DeBeer in London and North Americas CEO Michael Fogarty in Boston.

The independent judging panel is made up of senior business travel buyers across various sectors, who review the applications and determine the winners of one of these highly-coveted industry awards.

Does Uber Discriminate Against Wheelchair Clients?

Disability rights advocate Dustin Jones filed a complaint Tuesday with New York City’s Commission on Human Rights alleging that Uber discriminates against people with disabilities, according to a BuzzFeed News report.

Jones also included video footage of a driver rejecting him because his car wasn’t big enough to fit his wheelchair, which wasn’t foldable.
