2016 E-Class Lives Up To Chauffeured Expectations

The mid-sized prestige saloon segment of the chauffeur driven car market is very hotly contested, with the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class setting the class bar very high.

That said, Mercedes has always come out on top with clients in terms of prestige, and with the arrival of the all-new E-Class (W213), the three-pointed star pulls out an even bigger all-around lead over its rivals, says critic Dr. Ian Kuah.

Audi A8 Packs Potential But Needs To Step Up Game

The A8 has some seriously tough rivals in the shape of the younger, fresher Mercedes-Benz S-class and BMW 7-series. There’s also Jaguar’s XJ to contend with – so if the A8’s to come out on top, it’s going to take more than just VIP passengers.

Telegraph’s Alex Robbins gives the vehicle a 6/10: “The A8 is a perfectly lovely thing to drive and to be driven in, but in such competitive company, that simply isn’t enough. True, it’s comparatively cheap to buy and lease – but with the technologically superior Mercedes S-class and fun-to-drive BMW 7-series are both newer, more sophisticated and better resolved.”
